Visitor Services Representative
Part Time-Seasonal
Visitor Services Representatives are the first contact our visitors have at the Louisville Science Center. A friendly demeanor and glowing attitude are a must. Successful candidates will have prior retail cash handling and customer service experience.
Position Requirements:
• Minimum High School graduate or equivalent diploma.
• Experience in a professional office environment, including answering the phones and data entry. Sales and light clerical skills desirable.
• Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time.
• Must be able to work 20-30 hours per week and be regularly scheduled on a shift requiring weekend, weekday and/or evening hours.
Cover letters should include seven day week availability.
The Louisville Science Center is open every day except Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Derby Day.
Workshop Program Educator
Part Time
The Workshop Program Educators engage visitors of all ages in educational and entertaining experiences as a part of free and fee-based workshop programs for the Louisville Science Center. Educators will work with the public; special groups such as cub scouts and girl scouts, and teach in a variety of settings such as camp programs, family programs, birthday parties, overnights, and family science nights.
Educators may also present programs in outreach settings including schools, festivals, and at other museums or cultural attraction locations.
Position Qualifications:
• At least two years of college; with coursework in science, mathematics, technology, education, recreation or liberal studies.
• Satisfactory part-time or full-time work or volunteer record in roles requiring public speaking and interaction with the general public of all ages and abilities.
• Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time.
• Must be able to work up to 20 hours per week and be regularly scheduled on a shift requiring weekend and/or evening hours. Educators may also work weekdays during school breaks and holidays.
